More than 8 thousand children and teenagers are trained in 29 different specialties in the music and art schools of Kazan. For many of them, this education becomes a start in the creative future and the first stage on the way to University, the head of the Executive Committee Denis Kalinkin said today on a Business Monday meeting.
Presently, 8423 children study 29 different specialties for free in 18 music and 7 art schools, head of the Department of culture Azat Abzalov reported. Each school has a license for educational activities on the extended preprofessional programs. The unique feature of these programs is the development of initial professional skills.
The most popular classes of the extended education in the recent years are drawing and music.
"Kazan has a very long, glorious tradition in the field of the extended education. Music and art schools have become a launching complex for gifted children, for those 12% who continue their creative education, - commented Denis Kalinkin. "And the rest become an expert audience in the concert halls, theaters, exhibitions and create the cultural layer of our society."
