(KZN.RU, July 12). Kazan athletes won 3 golden medals at the International Children's Games, which are held in Ufa these days. Representatives of the Kazan team showed the best result in swimming and judo.
Thus, Ksenia Belyaeva and Karina Dzhoglidze took the first place in the mixed freestyle swimming. Athletes from Ufa were in second place, and the third went to Maribor (Slovenia).
Denis Gruzan from Kazan took the gold in judo among young men in the weight category of 56 kg. Silver and bronze medals went to the fighters from Jerusalem and Hod HaSharon (Israel). The first place in the 60 kg weight category also went to the representative of the Kazan national team – Timofey Maryushin. In the final, he defeated an athlete from Netanya (Israel). The judoist from Hod HaSharon took the third place of the podium, reports the Committee of Physical Culture and Sports.
The tournament is held in Ufa until July 14. In total, more than 1.5 thousand children from 12 to 15 years old came to the competition, as well as 4 thousand guests and families accompanying athletes. Children from all over the world compete in 9 sports. 18 athletes and 7 coaches represent the Kazan team at the competition. They compete in judo, swimming, climbing, athletics, and fencing.
