(KZN.RU, April 5). Several events will be held in Kazan in honor of the 100th anniversary of the State Archival Service of Russia and Tatarstan. On April 17, an exhibition of historical documents will open in the Exhibition Hall “Manege” of the Kazan Kremlin, and an international scientific and practical conference “From Parchment to a Number” will be held at two sites in the Technopark of Innopolis and IT-park in Kazan from 18 to 20 of April.
The exhibition in the Manege will be devoted to the history of the archival service of Tatarstan. Kazan citizens and guests of the capital will see documents related to different stages of the formation of the State Archive of the RT. The conference will open in Innopolis on April 18, and will continue in Kazan on April 19 and 20. Its participants in the format of a plenary session, a roundtable, panel discussions and lectures will discuss such important issues for archivists as the prospects for electronic document management, information security, the development of archive business, and others.
In addition, there will be an exhibition called “From Parchment to a Number” during the conference in Innopolis. The exhibits will be rare documents from the repositories of the State Archives of the RT, including the letters of honor of Tsar Ivan IV to Archimandrite of the Sviyazhsky Bogoroditsky Monastery Herman dated May 16, 1555, the list of the 12th-early 13th century manuscript “Al-Kitab” Sibavaykhi and the letter from Yevgeny Boratynsky to Nikolai Yazykov, dated 1832 year.
A children event “Archives of the Future: Through the Eyes of a Child” will be held on April 20in the center “KidSpace” on the territory of the stadium “Kazan Arena”, reports the press service of the State Archive of the RT.
